Strawberry Overnight Oats Chia (Print Page)

A creamy blend of oats with strawberries, chia seeds, and granola ready after overnight chilling.

# What You Need:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup rolled oats
02 - 1 cup milk, dairy or plant-based
03 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Fruit

07 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

→ Toppings

08 - 1/2 cup granola
09 - Additional fresh strawberries, sliced, optional

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl or mason jar, combine rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
02 - Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the oat mixture using a spoon or spatula.
03 - Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours, allowing the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and achieve a creamy consistency.
04 - In the morning, stir the overnight oats thoroughly. If the mixture appears too thick, add a splash of milk to reach the desired consistency.
05 - Divide the overnight oat mixture evenly between two bowls or jars. Top each serving with granola and additional fresh strawberries if desired. Serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You literally sleep through the hardest part of making breakfast, waking up to something that feels both indulgent and genuinely good for you.
  • Those strawberries stay tender and jammy without turning to mush, and the granola stays surprisingly crunchy even after soaking overnight.
  • It's the kind of breakfast that works whether you're rushing or lingering with coffee, and it tastes even better when you've made two jars at once.
02 -
  • The chia seeds are doing real work here—they need liquid to do their thing, so don't reduce them or the whole texture falls flat no matter how long you wait.
  • Granola on top right before eating is non-negotiable if you care about crunch; putting it on the night before is how you end up with sad, soggy granola that tastes like regret.
03 -
  • Make two jars at once on Sunday and thank yourself every morning for the next five days—meal prep that actually feels like a gift to yourself.
  • If you're preparing these for the week, assemble the base without the strawberries, then add fresh berries and granola each morning to keep everything at peak texture.
